OK we stopped...

In case you haven’t heard, PIPA (PROTECT Intellectual Property Act) and SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) are bills working their way through the US Senate and House of Representatives, respectively. They both propose giving the government the power to censor web sites in much the same way that China, North Korea, and Iran censor web sites today.

SOPA and PIPA, despite whatever good intentions they might have, are guilty of overreach. People share the things they love - it's a very human thing to do. And most of the time, sharing has absolutely no detrimental effect on anyone's business, and most likely a positive effect. The creators of media should be compensated for their work if they so desire. But that's not really what SOPA and PIPA are about. They're about stopping people from being people.

SHARING IS NOT PIRACY
